How to style the Pob!

1. Use a texturizing shampoo and conditioner in the shower.

2. Towel dry your hair and work in a small amount of anti-frizz balm and a dollop of volumizing mousse through your hair.

3. Using your hair dryer and a round brush, smooth hair towards your face, boosting more movement in your hair.

4. To style a cowlick, try blasting the heat on the unruly piece of hair first in one direction, then in the next direction, and after repeating a few times, the hair should sit the way you want.

5. Once dry, use a bit of pomade or wax to spike up the shorter pieces and seperate longer strands.

6. Use a small amount and rub between your hands to get the product soft, warm and pliable.

7. When your hair is styled, finish off with a touch of glossy shine serum and a spritz of finishing spray. Throughout the day you can touch and fluff up your hair.

8. Shorter styles usually require a bit more maintenance than longer ones. You'll need to get regular trims every 4-6 weeks, and keep that color fresh as there is nowhere for roots to hide.

9. You won't need to wash your hair everyday as choppier styles usually hold up well with slightly dirty hair.

Long and Curly
If you've been considering a perm these past few seasons, Spring 2008 is to jump in and go for it. Supermodels at the Calvin Klein presentation sported some curly ringlets in golden blonde and brunette colors. Medium-sized, tight curls are one of the leading looks of the season, and the extra-long length makes it super versatile.

Blunt Bangs
Blunt bangs are especially flattering for round and square face shapes, and can help balance out high cheekbones. Go for blunt bangs cut just over the eyebrow level for a modern, sophisticated look. These can easily be swept to the side if you decide to change up the style at a moment's notice.

Sculpted Bob
The bob continues to be a top trend this season, but the year calls for a soft and romantic version instead of the super-blunt cuts of Fall 2007. Soften up the look with large curlers or a curling iron, and go for a side part that covers the forehead.

Twisted Updos
The season's updo trends center around super-sculpted buns and twists; go for a sophisticated French twist by piling hair high up on the head and creating a 'knot'. The look was carried off perfectly by Gwen Stefani for the L.A.M.B. presentation at Fashion Week, and it's a great choice for warmer days.

Half Ponytails
Go for a teased side ponytail for a sophisticated and romantic look for Spring. It's the season for romance and the ponytail continues to be a super-feminine option for medium and longer lengths. Make it sleek and sophisticated with a flat iron, or where it loose with a natural wave.

Razor Cut Bob
The razor cut bob is the opposite of the sculpted version, and continues to be a top trend this year, except in a longer length. Instead of ending at the chin, the longest layer can now drop to the shoulders. Extreme side parts and zig-zag effects are great ways to pull of this look.

Finish off updos or dress up a simple bob with a few glittery hair picks and beaded accessories for a romantic touch; Spring 2008 trends are flirty, playful, and youthful. Are you ready for your spring hair makeover?

A healthy lifestyle will mean healthier hair for you. Excessive stress, smoking, not exercising and not eating nutritiously are not healthy for your hair. Taking certain vitamins may be most helpful in improving the condition of your hair. B group of vitamins among other kinds, are proven to cure many hair problems such as hair loss, dandruff, graying etc.

TIP NO.2 – Choose the right shampoo
As much as possible, use natural and organic hair care shampoos and conditioners with wheat germ, jojoba, almond or coconut oil, keratin, vitamins such as biotin, panthenol, vitamin A, E and essential oils. Also consider the type of your hair. If you pick out a shampoo for oily hair when your hair is actually dry, it will only damage your hair. Understanding the kind of hair you have is important so you can nourish it better.

TIP NO.3 – Hair products to avoid
There are lots of hair products nowadays which contain harmful chemicals that can cause various hair problems. So we must know what exactly are these products. Avoid using hair styling products with alcohol which dries out hair and as much as possible try to avoid putting hair styling products directly on your scalp, if you put it on your scalp you'll clog the pores on your head. If you like to go outside and get into the sun, protect your hair with hair care products that contain sunscreen. Also try to consult the experts to know which products is the best fit on your hair.

I know most of you are using a blow dryer to dry your hair. Just be inform that hot air can directly damage your hair. My tip for you is when using a hair dryer use the cool setting of it to lessen the damage done to your hair. Also, don't leave the blow dryer in one spot for more than a few seconds, keep it moving and at a good distance away from your hair. Overusing your hairdryer will contribute to damaging your hair so try to avoid using blowers as much as possible.

Hair is very important factor in looking good. To look great, we must properly take care of our hair regularly. We can achieve this by starting with a healthy lifestyle because as i said earlier, the hair is the reflection of our inner health and personality. Take care of your self and you take care of your hair. Enjoy!

2008 Hairstyle Tips for Men

Hairstyle in men are not refined as woman's hairstyles but just like women, men too love experimenting with our hair to complete their hot fashion style.

The hair has become one of men's leading concerns when it comes to hairstyle trends, i know that even you will agree that hair can make or break your entire look, and can be the key element when it comes to looking good. Also the right hairstyle can give you self-confidence and satisfaction. But we must remember that finding the right hairstyle for who you are does take a little effort though, but the results will be worth it in the end. So i made this tips for those mens who seek for the best hairstyle for themselves.

Tip #1: Find A Salon, Not a Barber Shop
Im not really against Barber Shop but based on my experiences on hair cutting, i will recommend to you to go in a Salon -as much as possible exclusive for men Salon- because they offer more treatment and great services like shampoo, blow dry, hair coloring etc. and also you have many options to choose from a variety of hairstyles they offer and by doing this you might be very happy with the result in the end. Another tip that i can give to you is to ask around and find out which stylist or salon your friends or relatives use regularly.

Tip #2: Do Not Ignore Others Suggestions
Remember that you want to look great for others, so try to ask your friends for suggestions of hairstyles that they think looks good on you. But your friends are secondary only, to achieve the best hairstyle ask the experts a.k.a. your hairstylist. They know the best for you. If you dont like it, don't worry, hair always grow back!

Tip #3: Find A Hairstylist Who Cuts You Well
If you really satisfy with the cut of your hairstylist, dont hesitate to come back again in the same salon at the same person. But if you were pissed of on your cut, for God sake dont ever come back, instead seek for another salon. Here's a very effective tip yet awkward on how you will find the perfect salon for you. Just ask. If you see a guy with a good haircut –the style that you want for your hair- dont hesitate to ask him where he get that cut. Just ask him in a polite manner and dont forget to praise his haircut first.

Tip #4: Go In a Salon In the Middle Of The Day
As much as possible, dont go in morning nor in the end of the day on the Salon, the reason for this is that if you go in those time, your hairstylist is not at his/her best condition to cut, the result might be just an average haircut and not a fantastic one. Well the best is in the middle of the day where he/she was already pumped up with already some finished customers. The worst time will be in the end of the day because at this point your hairstylist will be tired and not at his best. So make it a habit to go in the middle of the day.

Tip #5: Communicate Well and Be Good to your hairstylist
A proper communication and a good relation between you and your hairstylist is very helpful to achieve optimum result. When you describe the desired length of your hair, use your hands instead of describing in inches, it's a lot easier to understand by your stylist. As much as possible bring pictures of the desired hairstyle that you've seen in magazines or Internet. Pictures are truly worth a thousand words, so dont be shy to bring a piece.

Tip #6: A good Hairstylist deserve to be rewarded
Lastly, be generous with your hairstylist. Tip well because they will take better care of his clients and do their best efforts to achieve the best cut who tip well, they will think that those clients are taking care of them. And you will be surprised how much more attention you get if you're known to be a great tipper. See the logic?

Well as you can see, achieving the best hairstyle is not that easy as going in a salon, sit in a chair and walk home. It takes a lot of planning and effort. And i hope that this tips help you solve your problem. Enjoy!

Hair Color Tips For Your Hairstyle

We all know that hair is very important for all of us as a part of our visual presentation and not only are the right cut and style important but the right color can greatly change the total appearance as well. Certain shades go better with certain skin tones, eye colors, and clothing. There are many ways to enhance looks with different hues, highlights, lowlights, and other techniques to add something to the hairstyle. So i made this very useful tips on how you can achieve optimum result in coloring your hair.

First of all, i will discussed the different types of hair coloring products that can be use.
1. Permanent Hair Color
This makes a permanent change in the pigment of the hair shaft. It does not wash out. It will fade in time, but cannot be simply removed to bring back your natural color. Just take note that this is a job which should be left to the Pros Only! And also it is expensive and is hard on the hair to varying degrees.
2. Single Process Color
Single process means that the color is lifted and deposited in one step.
3. Semi-Permanent
It can cover gray and go darker, but cannot lighten. It lasts varying lengths of time depending on the product. Suitable for amateur colorists.
4. Deposit Only Color
These are very user friendly and usually condition and color the hair in one step.
The very popular were glazes or translucent colors are among the easiest to start with to enhance your color.

Tips Before and After Coloring
1. Before coloring:
The first thing you will do is to wash your hair with a good kind of shampoo for you to remove pollutants of your hair. Do not use conditioner or shampoo/conditioner mixtures available in single bottle. Conditioner will interfere with the dye bonding to your hair. If your scalp is soft and sensitive or your hair damaged or dry, wait about a day after washing to bleach or use permanent dye.
2. While coloring:
Follow the mixing instructions exactly as given. Use protective gloves and an old towel, especially when you are new to hair coloring. To keep the dye off your skin, you could put creamy gel like Vaseline around your hairline and it's better don't get it in your hair though, or it will unnecessarily bother your hair coloring process.
3. After coloring:
To make your coloring to last longer, rinse your hair in lemon based solution immediately after dyeing. This raises the strength of the hair color. Another tip is to add two spoons of hair color to your regular conditioner after each shampoo. Leave it on three to five minutes and rinse it with warm water. This replenishes the color that was washed out.

Remember that changing the color of your hair is not a bad thing, just make sure to follow manufacturers instructions. Also the advice of some professional hairstylist will be a big help, so try to consult if you have time. Enjoy your new look!

As the year 2007 draws to an end, many of you must be thinking of donning a new look for 2008. They are all set to make a comeback with much style and elegance.

posh in bob haircut imageLook for the bob style to make a bit of a “comeback” this Winter season as several celebrities are making this classic look all their own. Victoria Beckham is already making a splash with her highly publicized asymmetrical bob cut which has been renamed “The Pob” (for “Posh {Spice} Bob”).
The bob is a natural accompaniment to the revival in 1920s, 30s and 40s fashions we're experiencing. In 2008 the bob can be a longer, blunt cut like the one sported by Hana Soukupova or the sexed-up rock-chic version we've been loving on Freja. The bob can be fringed or fringeless and works well in pretty much any colour.

2. Masculine
On the other extreme to the super-soft and feminine hairdos, masculine styles also hit the runways as as forerunner to 2008. The short, boy-cut is going to be one of the hottest styles next year, thanks to celebs like Kirsten Dunst and Natalie Portman.

Another hot hair style trend for 2008 is the soft wedge haircut. This short hairstyle adds much sparkle to your face and shows the playful side of your personality. Since a lot of texturing and layering is used, your hairstyle looks soft and very smooth, in case of cut-style. Even people with thin hair can go in for this short cut, as it adds volume. It is suitable for almost every face cut and adds charm and confidence to the personality.

4. Razor Cuts with Layers
The Razor cut has always been around, on and off. But for 2008, a razor cut with a lot of emphasis on layering is being predicted to be absolutely in. You may have short or long hair and the razor style can be implemented beautifully, without compromising on length. Get a cut that enhances your facial features, adding much softness and playfulness to your look. Try to get more layering around the ears and on hair that falls on the side of your cheeks. With a short razor cut, a messy look can also be adopted, especially if it suits your relaxed and carefree lifestyle!

5. Poker Straight
Curls and waves will be transformed into straight and smooth flowing hair. Even if you love to keep those waves, make sure they just gather at the ends of your hair and the rest of the hair is absolutely straight. Sleek and smooth texture is the keyword for 2008. Hairstyle Tips for your Face Shape

Hairstyle is one the basic concern of one’s fashion. It really reflects one's own personality. Hairstyle as the word implies is the way one designs and grooms the hair in order to make a good appeal to others. One sort of hairstyle may suit one but it may not suit the other. To choose the appropriate hairstyle you should first think of your face shape. Believe me you new trendy hairstyle will change your appearance completely. Make sure you have chosen a trendy hairstyle that best corresponds to your face.

There are seven basic types of facial shapes. They are:

  1. Oval

  2. Round

  3. Oblong

  4. Heart

  5. Square

  6. Diamond

What's good and what's not hairstyles for your face shape:

Oval Face

Good: Chin-skimming bobs, blunt bangs, long, beachy waves (think California surfer girl).

Not Good: Short layers that add height on top of your head. This will make your face appear long. If your hair is thick or curly, avoid a blunt cut. You'll look like a pyramid.

Round Face

Good: Soft, graduated layers are a great bet because they make your face appear slimmer and tend to remove bulk and weight from the sides. Short hair styles with a swept-back direction or hair styles that are longer than chin length. By layering the top to achieve fullness and keeping the rest of the cut relatively close to the face, your face shape will appear longer and narrower. Bangs are flattering, but keep them long or sideswept.

Not Good: One-length, blunt cuts if you have short hair. Curly, short hair is also a no-no. These only emphasize your roundness. A rounded haircut ending at the chin will certainly add weight to your face shape. Because the widest part of your face is at the cheeks and ears, you need to avoid having the fullness of the cut here as it will make your face appear wider.

Oblong

Good: Side-swept bangs. Chin-length bobs are also ideal for us because they create the illusion of width. We look great curly or wavy (these also add width). Short to medium lengths. Fullness at the sides of your face. Soft wispy bangs. You'll want to balance the look of a long and slender face. Soft wispy bangs will shorten the appearance of the length. Fullness at the sides of your face will add width to the look of your face shape. Layers work great with your face shape, as they will add softness to the straight lines in your face. Try side parts, and you may be able to wear straight back styles.

Not Good: To much hair length . . . your face will look even longer! Too much height lengthens your face. Center parts. When your hair gets past your shoulders there is a good chance it is doing you more harm than good.

Heart

Good: Chin-length or longer styles. Side-parted hair styles. Swept-forward layers around the upper face, gently wispy bangs. A chin length bob is great on your face shape! This creates a balanced look by giving fullness where you need it.

Not Good: Short, blunt-cut bangs and harsh, choppy layers. Short, full styles that emphasize upper face. Height at the crown. Severe, slicked back looks. If you are a dramatic heart shape, the short full styles with tapered necklines which emphasize the upper face will make you look top heavy. Too much height at the crown will give the appearance of a longer and narrower chin.

Square

Good: If you have a square face, you'll want to play down your strong, angular jaw. Texture, in the form of curls or choppy ends, do this brilliantly. Short-to-medium length hair, especially with wave or roundness around the face. Wispy bangs. Off-center parts, height at the crown. You want to soften the square look of your face with layers and wispy looks around the face. Height at the crown will elongate your symmetrical shape. If your hair is straight you may want to consider a body wave, as some curl or wave to the hair will achieve a nice balance to the straight features of your face shape.

Not Good: Long straight styles that accentuate square jawbone. "Linear" straight bangs or center parts. A straight bob ending at the jaw line is the wrong thing to do for your face shape. One-length bobs (especially chin-length) and blunt-cut bangs. These will make your face look even more square.

Diamond

Good: Your face shape is balanced and dramatic. Try a variety of styles. Almost everything works with your face (as long as you are a true diamond). You can wear shorter styles, however if you are a dramatic diamond shape you need to leave weight in the back nape area like a heart shaped face. This will achieve more balance between your dramatic cheekbones and more delicate chin line.

Not Good: You can do just about everything, but try not too wear to much hair on your face, thereby hiding your great features.
